I took some photos of big-horned sheep at the L.A. Zoo, but the ones that are housed there are the desert variety. I wanted to paint my big-horned ram in a mountainous setting. In order to make him look like a Rocky Mountain big-horned sheep, I added muscle-mass to his neck and body. Unfortunately, these beautiful, majestic animals are endangered.
